Human Resources Time & Attendance System

Working with the Human Resources department of a well-established and successful large manufacturing company.

The company’s success is greatly helped by full vertical integration, from raw material processing to delivery of finished product.

This involves an extensive workforce, covering a wide range of roles and employment conditions.

Business Context

The drivers for the project were :

❌ Large number of paper-based processes (for example, holiday requests).

❌ Existing 3rd party system could not provide much needed tailored functionality.

❌ Restricted access to the current system, requiring licenced installation, preventing factory floor managers getting timely manning information.

❌ High Business Risk due to key person dependency in producing vital HR reports.

Solution

A new web app was developed which allowed for:

✔️ Multiple HR procedures to be converted to online forms: - holiday requests and approvals - employee department transfers - authorising employee late shift starts - return to work information

✔️ Accessible on any of the many computer terminals within the factories.

✔️ Employee knowledge captured & codified into the system.

Project results

🙂 VAST Reduction in the amount of MANUAL paper-based processes - No more lost holiday request forms

🙂 Quicker turnaround of holiday requests

🙂 Managers alerted REAL-TIME of shift staffing shortages

🙂 Weekly wage report can now be carried out by any HR admin.
